How do I prepare a CV?

A CV is short for curriculum vitaé or a resumé. You can call it whatever you want to call it. Simply put, it’s a product label for you. Your CV needs to be concise, summing up your academic history, work experience, strengths and career goals.

You must include the following, where applicable, in your CV:

  • Full name

  • Contact Details (both email and phone number)

  • Age (recommended)

  • Photograph of you (recommended)

  • Summary of your skill set

  • Education or academic history

  • Professional qualification(s)

  • Employment history (detailing your previous/ current employer's name, position and key responsibilities you have held).

It would also be good if you can tell us a little bit more about yourself outside of work, such as your hobbies or favourite pastime.

Open a Word Document file on MS Word and there are many CV templates to choose from. Good luck!
